Inzamam remarked, “If you see the two semi-finals, only the India-England game does not have a reserve day. That’s because India have won all of their games and they will qualify to the final if the game is abandoned.” He suggested that this lack of a reserve day was a calculated move to favor India, who would automatically advance to the final in case of an abandoned match.
He further elaborated, “There are different rules for each match! When Pakistan were in a strong position in the Asia Cup, we suddenly had a reserve day for just one match.” This statement underscores his belief that India receives preferential treatment in international cricket scenarios.
