Australia‘s Marcus Stoinis has ascended to the top spot in the latest ICC T20 all-rounder rankings, dethroning Afghanistan‘s Mohammad Nabi. This rise follows Stoinis’ impressive performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup, where he snared six wickets and made significant contributions with the bat, helping Australia advance to the Super Eights.
Stoinis’ elevation to the premier all-rounder position saw Nabi slip three places. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka‘s captain Wanindu Hasaranga and Bangladesh‘s veteran Shakib Al Hasan climbed to second and third spots, respectively.
The West Indies‘ bowlers have also made notable advancements in the rankings, reflecting their standout performances in the tournament. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein moved up six places to secure the second spot in the bowlers’ list, led by England‘s Adil Rashid. Additionally, Alzarri Joseph and Gudakesh Motie have made significant strides, moving up to 11th and 13th places, respectively.
India’s Suryakumar Yadav maintained his position as the top-ranked batter in T20 cricket. Following him are Phil Salt, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan, who remain static in second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
Australian opener Travis Head made a notable jump, moving up five places to fifth. West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran soared eight places to 11th, while Sherfane Rutherford made a significant leap, moving up 43 places to 42nd.
