In a major development for the food-tech industry, Zomato has introduced a comprehensive solution for its restaurant partners aimed at scaling up their businesses. According to a PTI report, the online food ordering and delivery platform launched a ‘restaurant services hub’ on Thursday, making it accessible across the country. This innovative feature, available through Zomato’s restaurant partner app or dining app, offers a wide range of services including licensing, taxation, trademarking, restaurant registration, and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) registration.

Additionally, Zomato is providing hiring solutions with an option to outsource the entire recruitment process, ensuring seamless restaurant operations. Notably, the company is offering a guarantee period for new employees, enhancing the reliability of its hiring solutions.

Zomato stated that over the past six months, the ‘Restaurant Services Hub’ feature has already catered to more than 3,200 restaurants. The company plans to extend this service nationwide, irrespective of whether the restaurants have an existing arrangement with Zomato.

Rakesh Ranjan, CEO of Food Delivery at Zomato, elaborated on the service, stating that the aim is to provide an end-to-end solution for restaurants to overcome operational complexities, including selecting the right location and finding ideal suppliers. “The restaurant services hub platform is only a step towards our vision of creating a full-stack solution for any restaurant owner looking to set up shop or scale their existing business. By strengthening partnerships and facilitating collaboration within the industry, we are focused on building a more resilient and inclusive ecosystem in the country,” said Ranjan.

Zomato has ambitious plans for the future, intending to introduce additional services such as POS (point of sale) systems, device integrations, and hygiene audits for its restaurant partners. This move is set to further streamline restaurant operations and enhance the overall dining experience for customers.

This development follows a similar initiative by Swiggy, which recently launched a new feature on its partner app to connect restaurants with staffing experts, helping them hire qualified candidates for various roles.
